My Bio
The first thing you need to know about me is that I LOVE teaching! Not necessarily the bits like playground duty and teacher meetings (although they can both have their moments) but the bit in class where scrunched eyebrows and confused looks turn into smiling faces as understanding dawns. I have had the pleasure of seeing this experience occur to many students for over more than 20 years. I have seen smiling faces on students aged 8 years to 18 years in Westminster Abbey Choir School (London), St. John's on the Hill Prep School (Chepstow), Kenton College Prep School (Nairobi) among others. As it happens, I also took time away from teaching to start my own business building solar-powered computer labs for rural schools in Kenya. This was also great fun and a terrific learning experience for myself. In fact I seem to be learning all the time; some things are easy to learn and some things are not. As a result I have a great deal of sympathy with other learners and enjoy helping them with the tricky bits.
In the meantime, I enjoy life in rural Scotland with my wife of 25 years, our 6 children, our 2 dogs and 2 cats.
